Dunlap & Nesmith

Attorneys at Law

Welcome to Dunlap & Nesmith LLC,  experienced lawyers concentrating in the areas of bankruptcy, creditor rights, and criminal defense, and serving Southwestern Indiana and Western Kentucky.  Our law office focuses on criminal defense, personal bankruptcy, including Chapter 7 and Chapter 13, creditors’ rights, and collections.

Practice Areas

Our law office handles personal bankruptcy including Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy laws, creditors rights, debtors rights, collections, protection and negotiations, criminal defense, and civil litigation claims.

Dealing with debt can be stressful. A bankruptcy lawyer can help put your mind at ease. We have handled thousands of bankruptcy cases over the years and know how to solve your financial problems. We deal with Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases. Dunlap & Nesmith  can advise on alternatives to filing for bankruptcy protection, which include debt consolidation and credit counseling.

Debtor Rights

If you are burdened by debt, it’s important you know your rights.  We can help provide the resources and protection against harassing collectors, as well as offer our experience in deciding whether or not filing for bankruptcy is right for you.

Creditor's Rights

We file lawsuits and seek court judgments, on money owed. We enforce judgments through bank or wage garnishments, assist with secured debt, and represent creditors during bankruptcy proceedings.

Collections are an essential aspect of any successful business. Effective collection strategies help maintain or increase your profitability. In the midst of economic decline, creditors face tougher challenges.

Criminal Defense

When under police investigation or accused of a crime, you need to know your rights and have a reliable criminal defense lawyer at your side. Remaining silent can be vital for a favorable outcome. You should contact an attorney before answering any questions or cooperating with the police or a federal agent in a criminal investigation.

Civil litigation

Civil litigation covers a wide range of legal practice that does not involve criminal charges and aims to recover damages or protect against injustice. At Dunlap & Nesmith, we represent clients in civil cases in Indiana and Kentucky courts. There is no charge for an initial consultation to discuss how civil litigation could resolve your legal issues.

Family Law

Decisions involving family matters or choices made during divorce often have long-lasting effects. To protect your interests and quality of life, it is important to choose a lawyer who listens to you, understands your objectives, and can properly evaluate your needs. We hope you consider discussing your family concerns during a free consultation with Bill Nesmith
